Upgrade Xiaomi Mi4

Hi,

I want to upgrade mi Xiaomi Mi 4 but i need some help. Now i have 5.12.4 of Miui.it, but i want to pass at Android 6.

What are the processes that i need to do? and what rom i need to download.
It's more sure if before to star i do a backup?

How to update Xiaomi Mi3/4 and MiNote from 4.4 to 6.0:
- Install MIUI 5.12.17 2x via Updater app first to merge your system partitions (no more dual system support) - If you didn't do that already
- After reboot install current 6.1.28/29 version - let it boot and update all apps, then reboot again..
- Wipe data not needed but recommended
- No OTA this week for cancro
- First Boot can take longer than usually (10-15min)

Note: there are still some bugs, but the devs will fix them soon i asume.

I need to do Wipe Data after or befor installa 6.1.28?

Wipe Data reset my gallery?(So photo, video) or my contacts? Or only the app?

Hello, you don't need to wipe your data. It's recommended. But when you do wipe, you wipe your data after installation and then you reboot (turn off and restart).

When you wipe your data your pictures, videos, contact and apps will get lost. So, you bettet backup these data.

But again, you don't need to wipe. I didn't and my mi4 has MM now and it works just fine.

And now waiting for the next update next Friday i think.
