Hi,

I bought a Xiaomi mi 2 mop which i cant connect to my xiao mi app.
I can see it in the app, but the second step always fails and gives the error "Failed to send message".
I've tried 2 different WiFi's, with WPA2 and no special character in the WiFi name or password.
I've tried to change server in the app.
I've tried to reinstall the app.
I've tried to reset the vacuums WiFi settings several times.
I've tried to factory reset the vacuum several times.

I don't really know what more i can do?
Do i have to return it?

Edit: It works now.
Turn off mobile/cellular data on your phone, and remove any "auto connect" from every wifi you can connect to.
Then find the vacuum in the app, start the linking process, and when it prompts you to "connect", go into your wifi settings on the phone and find the hotspot the vacuum has created, connect to this.

had the same issue, it was the wifi on my phone. It would automatically disconnect from the robot's wifi because it was providing no internet. I manually connected to the wifi (from android's wifi menu) and everything worked fine. I'm surprised there is almost no information on this. I found the solution here:

Thanks for the answer!
What do you mean by "Manually connect to the wifi"?
Because i had mobile data(my 4/5g internet from provider) off and i tried to both disconnect and change wifi but it didnt help.
Did the person in the thing you shared had location permission off while connecting?

It's working now, thanks alot!!!

Awesome! Glad it helped.
For posterity - manually connecting literally just meant to go to wifi settings, select the robot's wifi (which was saved after connecting to it the first time), and tapping on it to connect. This way it would switch back to my home wifi (because the robot's wifi has no internet connection, so android automatically disconnected from it).

Cheers
