Hi everybody

I have a Note11 (great phone) but I am having problems with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling

I am with giffgaff, an MVNO of O2

The claim that all users can utilise VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling and their list of compatible devices states ....
  • Xiaomi Devices:
  • All devices with a Snapdragon chipset.
My phone gives no option for either VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling

giffgaff say "It’s up to Redmi to release the update to enable their phones to work with giffgaff’s implementation of WiFi calling."

My specs

Any help please ?

1. Enter the string * # * # 86583 # * # * in the field for dialing numbers, a message will appear after the last character, which must end with DISABLE. If ENABLE, we repeat the string again. This will allow VoLTE because this menu is hidden by default.

2. Enter the string * # * # 869434 # * # * as above, again the message with DISABLE must appear at the end. We have enabled VoWIFI.

And have you toggled the VOLTE and VOWIFI switches in the SIM settings?

Definitely - as in post 3, in both cases the check disabled message appeared.

and to check, I enabled them and then disabled them again

Update

The giffgaff sim in my wife's iPhone 12 Pro is now using both VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling

So the problem seems to be with Redmi Note 11's implementation of VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling

I have, incidentally, just noticed that I am on Android 13. I have tried to upgrade but phone says it is on latest version
So why has it not upgraded to 14 ????

?????????????????????
Are you telling me that the "current model" mobile phone that I bought is now a brick after less than 2 years ????
Way to go Xiaomi. I now know not to trust their update promises
.............. and still it won't handle VoLTE

Oh well back to Motorola
