Want to buy Mi 11 Pro, but not sure because of ROM

Hi, first post here. I live in Spain and they don't sell the Mi 11 Pro here. Was thinking of buying it from a website that sends it with the original chinese ROM. And I know there's a global one available, as well as the Xiaomi.eu one.

From what I've read, I really like this phone and want to give it a shot, but this whole 'flashing the rom' thing is putting me off a bit. I don't even know how to do it. And once it's flashed, then app updates are no longer a matter of getting updates through Google Play Store, is it?

Is it all easy and effortless? Or does the Global/Xiaomi.eu ROM imply spending more time on updating apps, etc.?

I guess I just want someone to hold my hand and tell me 'you'll be fine, just buy the da*n phone', lol.

I'm using that phone to write this. The bootloader is still locked and I haven't changed the Rom, still Chinese.
Your English seems good, so you would have no problem using it.
There is a lot of Chinese bloatware.
I have sideloaded the play store and chrome.
They update automatically now as well as other apps.
I've had it ten days and getting use to it quickly.

Can you uninstall the bloatware? Or is it like some of the Samsung ones that can't be removed?
Was it easy to sideload? I have no idea what that means or what I haev to do, but I guess I'll learn. I just don't want to spend 700 euros on a phone and then spend 10 hours figuring it out.

Maybe you need to take the time to find out before buying, you have all the explanations about how to install Xiaomi.eu ROM on a phone at the start of every ROM thread, you have Profixit post explaining how he uses the chinese ROM instead, the whole forum is dedicated to helping people install and use the ROM, including a thread dedicated to Mi 11.

I was hoping someone can just say something like 'no, it's not complicated at all, takes 10 minutes' or 'it's a bit complicated and it can take hours but the instructions are there.' I have a newborn , a 60-hour per week job, and a father that is at the hospital. And my phone's breaking down. So was hoping someone can help me make the decision as to whether I should buy it or not.

Actually it's not that hard. You'll have to unlock the bootloader with the official tool, flash TWRP and then install the rom. After that, everything works as normal, playstore and Google pay as well.

For some it's easy, for some it's complicated. The actual installation of the xiaomu.eu ROM takes several minutes.
The waiting time to unlock the bootloader is 168h.

If you do not have time to "play" with your phone, I would recommend choosing another model or brand.

I too have a family crisis as well as work. So it was important to me that I could start using the phone straight away. Which I am.
When I have more time I will flash it.
It's also important that my banking/payment apps work. Which is as good as guaranteed when the bootloader is locked and on original rom.

Banking etc works for me at least but maybe it depends on the app

I've done a lot of reading and asked many questions. It would seem only one app refuses to work. SkyGo. Which doesn't bother me.
I'm sure it's app and update dependant.
So no guarantees.
