Wi-fi Hotspot Limited Internet Connectivity

Hope this isn't a dumb question, but i turned on the wifi hotspot for the first time today and connected from my laptop. It connected ok and registered an ip, but i didn't have any internet connectivity... Am I missing something?

BTW, running:
n_i_x 11.26.1 on a Droid Inc.

Have u tried, go to wifi - wifi advanced - regulatory domian and choose 14 channels there?
Had same problem from beginning and fixed after i did that.
