Hello,

I found out that when using a high ISO the value reported by the phone is quite wrong.

As a test I took a photo in the same lightning environment using the phone and a mirrorless camera Sony A7 III.
phone f1.9, 0.5s, 6400ISO
sony A7 III f2.0, 0.5s, 6400ISO
sony A7 III f2.0, 0.5s, 1250ISO

It can be seen that the photo using 6400ISO from the camera is a lit lighter than the phone one even though it should be a bit darker (worse aperture). The phone photo has similar exposure as the photo using 1250ISO in the camera.

When I did the same test using a night landscape (4s, 6400ISO on the phone), the difference was even more significant. On the other hand taking the photos during the day with low ISO seems to correspond to the camera quite well.

I did not modify the exposure of any photo in post production, I just scaled the resolution of all the photos, so I am able to upload them to this page.

I used the stock camera, MIUI Global 12.0.13 Stable.

I reported the bug using the Services & feedback phone function several weeks ago, but so I did not get any reply.

Can anyone here help me? Because of this bug I am able to produce lighter photos using my older Redmi note 7 than the Redmi note 10 pro, even though the sensor on Redmi note 10 pro should be superior.

Thanks.

Dude... First of all you are using stock firmware and this forum is for a custom ROM and not affiliated with Xiaomi. Second of all and most importantly comparing the ISO of a phone camera sensor to a one from an actual camera is way worse than comparing apples and oranges. They would be totally different, you have sensors, lenses software ISPs - you name it - it is different.

I did not know the forum si for custom ROM and not affiliated with Xiaomi.
About the second point - As a photographer I know that the combination of ISO, shutter speed and aperture should determine quite well how the photo is exposed. The lens has almost nothing to do with that. Software can modify the exposure, but in that case the phone makes the photo darker on purpose, which is really silly.
