I just received a twin pack of the AX3000 NE (white) APs today. To my utter disappointment, there does not seem to be a way to enable Guest mode when in AP mode.
I plan to use both units as APs and connect them to my existing Asus router. The trouble I'm having is that I need at least 3 different SSIDs. Splitting the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks and enabling Guest mode would have been perfect however, for some odd reason, you cannot enable Guest mode when in AP. I also don't know why there is such a limitation on the number of SSIDs you can't set. I can set up to 6 on my Asus router with far less capable hardware!
I thought maybe I got around this issue by setting both units as routers and disabling DHCP. This does indeed allow me to enable Guest mode, but I'm running into other issues where I can't connect to either of the AX3000 NE mesh units from my LAN. Only using the Home app which has some limitations.
The speed and range of these units is absolutely superb. I'm really pleased with that part however, only enabling a single SSID on 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz is a deal breaker for me. I'm struggling to understand why as the hardware should be more than capable of adding multiple moreSSIDs. Really appreciate any help. Thank you!
