My phone fell off my desk at like two feet off the floor, it has a screen protector and a rubber case, so the hit should have been nothing, but now the screen is green and flickering when I try to use it. I look up what could cause the issue and I go for the emergency menu Power + Volume up, screen still looks green and it goes through the menu without issue aside getting stuck in fast booting. Restarting the phone changes nothing, can't access any more than that, tapping the power button just makes the screen flicker for half a second and to black again. I also checked disconnecting the battery and connecting it again, I have the right tools so I put everything back in the right place.

My question, would formatting my phone actually make any changes? At this point I'm convinced it's not the display or at least not the display alone, I didn't install any new apps lately and the only real hassle would be losing a few pictures and having to install my apps again, but if possible I'd rather not go through that. I'd appreciate any feedback, I'm really not in the position to get a new phone right now.

Formatting your phone will not fix the green flickering screen. The issue is almost certainly hardware damage from the fall, not a software problem.
