Yahoo mail notification

hi. just wiped htc desire s and applied the latest (as on monday 18th) miui. all working great thanks! except, i can't turn off notification for yahoo mail. i can tell the app not to make a sound, vibrate or show in the status bar (all through its own settings) but the phone still 'blinks' at me when i get a new email.

i can't see any way to turn this off. am i missing something?
