Hi ingbrzy and team,
Thanks a lot for this release. About a month ago I went from Android 4.2 to 4.4 and now I installed 5.0 on my Xiaomi Mi2, so I believe I can provide valuable
feedback. I only hope it won't get lost
- Lockscreen bug: When I lock my screen and hit any of the bottom buttons right afterwards (which happens almost always when I'm putting my phone on a table), it gets unlocked.
- The
battery life is now
significantly worse.
- Storage issues: I had ~500MB on the data partition after the update to 5.0, but something started to "eat" the free space afterwards. Suddenly I had about 250MB of free space and I was not able to update Google Play Services. So I uninstalled Facebook (200MB app+data) and achieved ~450MB of free space. Then it dropped again during a night to 150MB. I uninstalled some other apps to achieve 368MB (>10% of the total internal space) free space to be at least able to refresh a list of emails in the Email and Gmail apps. Please note that I'm sharing this after a I made sure that it is not me or any app causing this. I'm clearing my cache (not only in browsers, the cache as a whole), there is no growth of data being used by the applications, nothing easily to be spotted. But still
I lost about 500MB of free space with no new apps installed. Did something change in 5.0 that may have caused this? Currently my data partition consists of app (1208MB), dalvik-cache (arm-1106MB), data (437MB), app-lib (228MB), miui (93MB), System data (65MB) + free space is 368MB (3503MB in total).
- Downloads & Data usage: Although I have the download limit set to "Unlimited", I'm not able to download large files via mobile data since 4.4 and I was daily bothered with Data usage (so I froze the Data usage app via TB today). Is this a common issue?
+ Finally my widgets (like my clock) are not being stopped anymore as it was happening on 4.4 (even if I had them 'locked' to not to kill them they stopped working multiple times per a day out of a sudden)
PS: It would be good to be able allow to install new apps etc. when the remaining storage is below 10% (e.g. to set the limit to 5%) - is that possible? I believe that on Xiaomi Mi2 32GB with 3,7GB data partition it would be welcomed.
PSS: I had an issue with Google Play Services - after the update I was not able to use apps like Gmail or hangouts (the error message said that there is some unknown issue with Google Play Services). What helped was to remove the Google account and to add it again.
