Hi, the description above isn't clearly. I am on A11 with my Mi 11 and got TWRP installed. Can I Update by using TWRP or do I have to update via Fastboot? I've got MIUI 12.6 installed, 21.9.1 Xiaomi EU Rom.

You cannot update in TWRP.
The description is quite clear. If the ROM has the name fastboot, it is installed in fastboot mode.

Do you really know that or it is only a guess. Without a doubt ist seems logical , but I want to know it for sure, as many users bricked their phone by updating via fastboot

He is correct. Fastboot is your only choice.
