Using Android 9 or later?

Hi

I have successfully installed TWRP Clover (via ADT) and xiaomi.eu_multi_MIPAD4_9.8.29_v10-8.1 (Android 8.1) on my MiPad 4 Plus.

Is it possible to install a later Android version, such as 9.9.6, or is a tablet always restricted to the Android version it was originally shipped with?

I myself ran the PixelExperience for a few weeks but went back to Xiaomi EU 8.1 because the PixelExperience lacks updates.
PixelExperience ran as good as my OnePlus 6 with OxygenOS, did not find things that did not work.
I do prefer the Google launcher above MIUI but have got used to using MIUI in some time.
I will just wait for an 9.x or even 10.x Xiaomi EU rom.

Last security patch was August.

And no mipad5 for now
I'm thinking about to go to samsung, they have good phones, and an android tab ( the last one)

Xiaomi Tablet Support is Bad.
I will test lineage_clover-userdebug 10 QP1A.191005.007 eng.rcstar.20191022.192317 test-keys.

I tried some of the Android 9 and 10 roms. (Pixel experience plus, superior os, havoc and Lineage 17). I still had the best, smoothest gaming performance with Xiaomi-eu so I reverted back to it.
