Hello,

I have Xiaomi phone but even if I change language to English, there is still a loot of Chinese messages in it (for updates, for SD card etc). It is kinda annoying so I would like to change it to original English one from this website. But of course I don't see ROM for Xiao-mi. Can someone help me and tell me how I can update it to new ROM from this website that is completely in English?

Thank anyone in advance!

I'm wondering the same! I also recall seeing a rom on the page for the mi-one.. I think I recall reading something about them having trouble to fix the zip or something.

plus one vote

I'm in the same boat. In general, everything works but yeah, There are a lot of non-English apps I would like to use.

its all to do with them stopping dev roms and they made the rom go stable on 2.3.5g / j etc. Dev versions are pretty stable already for the mi-one. I'm currently testing the build of a Stock 4.0.3 ICS for it. As soon as they move to ICS we'll be back with the roms.

For now stick to the 1.12.30 release if you haven't got it, i'll make it available :)

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark thanks for the update and all your good work!

Is any time frame for the 4.0.3 ICS? Could you make the test build available to us?

If not could you please make 1.12.30 release available.

Much obliged!

No time frame unfortunately, and sadly not allowed to give out internal Xiaomi test ROMs just yet.

I'll get the 1.12.30 release done later on for people.

Thanks,

Mark

That would be highly appreciated Mark! Please upload the version for the mi-one when you have the time!

Looking forward to the 1.12.30 release by Mark for Mi-One! It will really help a lot!

HI ..... MARK
PLS.
Can I get a direct link for MIUI MI-ONE ROM and have a direct link......PLS.

its not stable enough guys, no point giving it out to have people complain about the bugs. Lots of issues with the Phone aspect of the device at the moment and general BSP team fixes going on.

I also have the Mi-One plus phone, and the chinese is very annoying. Another thing is that I think the MI-Recovery has a smaller option than for instance Clockworkmod Recovery. I just can't find out how to flash some zip files that I had on my Desire!! Or how to flash any ZIP files at all.

Any body?

Hi rayblue,

You can use the MiFlash Windows application and Fastboot to flash third-party images and so on. Hope that helps.

Regarding the English, from my chats with Xiaomi they will be publishing a full ROM very soon, the reason for the delay is well, simple, to run ICS on the phone the partitions need to be changed quite considerably for ICS, this is not a simple thing for standard users and they are just trying to work out a suitable upgrade path from 2.3 to 4.0.

For those desperate the apks from Nexus S should work fine. Sans frameworks but even those apks could potentially work, however i've not tried this myself yet. It used to work for the Nexus One and Desire, that said similar hardware. Give it a go :)

Thank you for your reply.

I have found and installed MiFlasher, but I dont get this to work at all. If I want to flash the Clockworkmod Recovery, how on earth do I do this?

I also tried with the Fastboot flasher V3.1 to flash the clockworkmod recovery image, but this didn't work either. In fact, I now can't get in to the MI-recovery like I did before.

Any additional help would be highly appreciated.

MiFlash works fine here, what error do you get? Did you install the ADB drivers?

You cannot flash CWM recovery to the mi-one, only use is Mi-recovery unfortunately.

If you have flashed a recovery.img over the mi-recovery then you may well be bricked. Can you get into fastboot?

I've fixed it *phew*.. Was a bit nervous there, but luckily the MI-One has two versions on the phone, so I could use number 2 and install the latest version of MIUI. When I restarted the phone I could indeed get in to the recovery and also start up number 1 and install the latest to this version.

I think I will wait until MI release a brand new version with more english text. The reason why I wanted to use Clockworkmod recovery was so I should be easier to install som apps, and also I would like to try the MIUI_au version I had on my Desire. This worked like a charm before it began to explore the ICS version, so I really hope MI ICS is much more reliable when it is released.

Its all for the reasons i've stated already :) if they'd give me a full ROM i would do the English fix ups.
