Hey guys, so i've been using my Mi-One for about a week and all I can say is this phone is just ridiculously nice...

Just had a few requests/questions. Seems very few english speakers have this phone so any help is appreciated.

1. Could someone put together a quick guide to updating to ICS? I want to try it on my second partition but am a bit scared of bricking and a solid instruction guide would really help. I am running 2.3.5n. Must I reboot in 2.3.5k and repartition?

2. How stable are the ICS builds? Are these good for day to day use? Any issues? Has anyone got any information on when an official non beta/developers stable build will officially be released by Xiaomi?

3. Can this phone be rooted? Want to run a No-ads app but need root to do so.

As far as I know, my phone was rooted when I received it. I can install and run apps that indicate you need to be rooted. Eg Titanium Backup

MIUI v4 ICS 2.3.23 seems pretty stable to me. I've not had any issues with it this week.

Haha oops, yeah of course, its got superuser.

Cool. Any chance you could tell me what the steps that you took to upgrade were? Do you have to revert to 2.3k to re-partition? Can you have ICSv4 on one partition and a 2.3 build on the other?

You need to open Mi Recovery and update the system partitions, there is an option near the bottom of the main menu when you've got past the language selection. You NEED to perform this step in order to flash ICS.

It's possible (i think) to run only ICS on either partition but do try, I may be wrong.

There is no restrictions on the device, its a developer-friendly device for MIUI :)

I can't emphasize enough how important this step is. I ignored Mark's advice and things got emotional.
