Hi all,

I just tried flashing miui 2.4.20 to an HTC DESIRE S.

1)Before doing so, I unlocked the bootloader using HTC Dev tool
2)Rooted using superclick tool
3)Installed CWM Recovery using fastboot

and then flashed the rom....it won't go any further than the white HTC screen on reboot even though it looks like the flash is successful. I tried reflashing several times with no luck :( can someone please help?

I don't know if your problem is the same as the one I had today but I'll give it a try. I got stuck because I forgot to clear the Dalvik cache.

Hi!
The same happened to me. Take the ROM zip file, unpack the boot.img file to c:\root, reboot phone to the bootloader, choose fastboot with power button, you are getting red "fastboot" , connect usb, than choose fastboot usb. Now run cmd prompt, then type c: and than type fastboot flash boot boot.img (of course if you installed fastboot formerly). My phone is getting started that way!
Hope this will help you too!!

If you used the HTC Dev method, your device still has S-ON (Which means Security ON), which prevents writing of the /boot area during recovery. So do what was said above, or google how to obtain S-OFF on your phone.

We have almost 30 Desire S by the company, 5 of them are now rooted :) We got different hboot versions, so the way to unlock and root would get different. With hboot 98.0002 we have htc dev and revolutionary, for the hboot 2.00.002 the formerly written version applicable ;)
That way phone is unlocked but S-ON, and all the roms are working perfect on them :D
