Hello, there's a small issue with my software. I am currently running the Miuiandroid.com 3.1.11 build on my Xiaomi Mi 2. However if I download a theme from this website and try to apply it, it won't work. It did work before, but after a reboot it seems to have stopped working.

It says the following: "The theme is not downloaded from official market, please download similiar ones from official market."

So does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks :)

register in Xiaomi account and theme has to pass DRM validation during installation...
not MIUI issue.. its feature... :)

Same problem here. I could install themes when the phone came out of the box. Without xiaomi account. After flashing rom no themes will install. Same error message.

I did find a workaround! In Google Play download MiHome. With this loader installed you can apply whatever theme you like. No xiaomi account needed. Works like a charm.

Hmm, thanks for your reply. The launcher from the app play store seems to be a bit laggy on my device though :( .

I had this problem with galaxy S2 (now i have Mi2) and solved like this:

Using Root-explorer go to MIUI folder/theme and delete .data and .temp folders (they will be automaticaly recreated afterwards), delete the .mtz files you copied to the folder too. Then copy again .mtz files you like in MIUI/theme.
Try it, i'm not sure you will solve but it's safe.

Hi, I tried this a while ago but it did not solve the problem that's mainly why I posted this thread:( . But thanks for the reply!

Downloaded a lot of files from droidviews and no problem at all applying themes. Did you try to delete xiaomi account and then log in again?

Hmm I tried this before. It didn't work that time. Now however.. it seemed to have solved my problem somehow. Maybe it was a combination of logging in and out of the Xiaomi account and then deleting those folders. Anyways, here is what I did: I deleted the maps .data and .temp, but couldn't find the themes that didn't work as they all looked like this: "73254wuygasyudgasyudgasydtfatd6fasd.mtz" etc... So then I launched the Themes app, it "reconverted" the themes, and then they work.

So what you gotta do is, import the themes, then delete .data and .temp and then "convert" them again, by launching the Theme app.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaaaaandd it's not working anymore. This is really annoying.

So... anyone got any clue about how to fix this?
First apply the default theme. Then go to MIUI/theme folder on your sdcard and delete everything. Reboot. Open the theme manager and download a theme from online tab and apply. If this works then open theme manager then press menu button and choose import option and import the theme from your sdcard . Now apply the theme .
