I agree, I've got sMiUI 5.9.17 on my mi2s and mipad, and they both are working great!

The only niggle I have, is on my mi2s I still hear the volume control sound. I feel slightly stupid for mentioning this, since its so minor...

No its great thanks for mentioning this .. can someone confirm this ? I will look into it, what was your ROM ID ?

Sometimes the kitchen has some smaller bugs ..will fix them among the next week , plaese just try to build your rom again.

In every version browser missed. I just try the apk from 5.9.10 but this bring a fc

@sebsch1991 I flashed the rom and restarted the phone. It's staying in Mi startup. What can I do? I've tried to restart to recovery etc and it's not working

SuperSU offers advanced management .. you will get popups when an App requests root acces - you can grant it for only 15 minutes .. and for developers and advanced users: the SuperSU "su"-binary file enables you to use fully working tab-completion

and it won't respond to touch so I can't get past lockscreen
with adb, it won't list the device...

can you boot to fastboot ? boot to fastboot mode and install TWRP recovery (google -> download TWRP -> devices -> download for cancro )

connect your phone with USB and open command prompt - type ->
fastboot flash recovery "TWRP-image-filename.img"
fastboot boot "TWRP-image-filename.img"

TWRP should boot and you can access all your files..

I was able to fastboot, then installed the one from the link with miFlash, but it didn't proceed beyond lock screen / no adb / no file manager, proces .com.androd.phone (?) stopped. but the I was able to start mirecovery... I had to wipe user files... now it works.
and user files are restoring from MiCloud

ironically I asked about trwp just before I attempted to flash this weeks rom.

I think it went all wrong with SuperSU... weird thing is, I always had it installed en enabled... I can't even remember why anymore. But I'm not sure. I assume I am the stupid one.
(at least for not storing my nandroid on my iMac)

Hmm sMiUI 5.917 had some problems with system partition size.. means when you install supersu the partition is full and the system wont boot anymore.. but that problem is solved in the current version !?

You dont have the bootanimation on 5.9.2 ? Well you can flash 5.9.17 , all bugs are removed

Apparently I need twrp now? Can this make similar backups too? And choose which system while to flash the Rom too?

In post #3966 I already stated that it works, i.e. you can flash sMIUI with TWRP. However, you need the "correct" TWRP for unified partitions for the Mi2s...
