I'm talking for all those who have a Mi4C, the touchscreen needs to be fixed! In multitouch it has serious issues that doesn't permit to write correctly with keyboards, play games, wake up phone with double tap etc.
If you place one finger on the middle of the screen and with another one you touch the edges of the screen, the touches will not be showed up! Try it with the app on the PlayStore "Yet Another Multitouch Test".

This video explains everything:

Please fix it asap!!!!

(OBVIOUSLY I HAVE THE LATEST MULTILANGUAGE AVAILABLE, NO SCREEN PROTECTORS ETC.)

sadly got worse in latest stable (the one released now in January) ... and it affects typing on a really annoying level.

Hi Szunny,
hearing your accent I suppose you're italian... [I'm italian too]

[OFF TOPIC]
In the video you said: "root permissions activated by settings without flashing any zip from recovery".
Ehm......... how??? Can you explain me better?
[END OFF TOPIC]

I tried your same app on my Mi4C running last "miui.eu 6.1.7" and for me multitouch is working well...or I've not understand good your issue...

Also for me double tap to wake does not work "always" but it fails only 1 time over 10 tries, so not a so serious bug

I confirm all the bugs.

*touchscreen not responsive enough (especially when the device is placed on a surface/table)
*double tap to wake does not work always (1:4 success/unsuccess)
*the notorious and very annoying two finger problem: youtube.com/watch?v=uPC7Z2ploxc
*keyboard missing letters

its my first phone from xiaomi (and i think the last) and i'm very very disappointed.
this phone is totaly defective.

I have not that issues with touch of my mi4c on miui stable or on dev. What is your rom? I suggest you to try another rom and try cit tests as you see on second point of this tutorial: http://en.miui.com/thread-155746-1-1.html
If It's an early rom bug you can easily solve it just flashing a more recent rom. Instead if it's a hardware bug you can contact your warranty rights instead blaming a company on this forum :)

Hello, I have exactly the same problem explained in the first message. I changed my ROM from the initial stable to the italian developer ROM 5.12.7 (by miui.it) to the multilanguage developer ROM 6.1.21 (by xiaomi.eu). Every new flash has been performed after a full wipe (even internal storage) but the problem with multitouch is still there.

I'd like to understand whether this is a real issue or just something that is known and will be fixed soon or later.

For not italian readers: i simply repeat to Ferrarista how to perform a cit test on his mi4 c on dev rom to be sure it's an hardware problem. As i said before, with recent roms touch is working well so i suppose it could be just an hardware problem.

As I said, at the moment I have the multilanguage ROM 6.1.21. Anyway I will try to perform the test that you suggested and report about it.

EDIT1: I did it. The test confirms the issue. When using the multitouch, the borders of the screen seem to have a problem. But this happens ONLY in multitouch mode: if i just try to touch the borders of the screen with one single finger, it works. To be honest I wouldn't like to give away my phone for weeks and then discover that it's just a software issue that I could've fixed on my own...

EDIT2: I have a protective glass on the screen of my Mi4c. Could this affect the multitouch performance?

I notice with Touch Test (CIT ) i can use multitouch without issues. I am using a protective glass too, first one bought from amazon then i broke it with a fall and i bought another one from a spanish ebayer. No touch problems with both.
I bought in december my mi4c (3Gb ram 32 Gb rom). I had not touch bugs with stable preinstalled rom and still no problem with dev one. Try contacting your vendor about a possible hardware issue.

Update: I just installed the multi Rom by xiaomi.eu 6.1.28. The multitouch issue is still there....

I think this hardware bug is relate to just few lots of display.
Check your models, contact resellers for warranty or en.xiaomi.com to have support.
You cannot hope to fix your touch issue with an update cause it's hardware issue just for few users luckily.

Ok, reported. Let's see if they answer. Anyway the phone is completely new (I bought is less than 2 months ago) so I can be a bit patient and wait until they will confirm that it is a hardware problem. I'm also a bit worried since my vendor could claim that the problem is connected to my rom and recovery flashes, while a confirmation by xiaomi of an existing hardware bug could force them to repair or substitute the device.

Apparently Xiaomi doesn't care about this issue even if a lot of users confirm it. To be honest, I think that I will contact my vendor as soon as possible...

Someone says "I am sure that it must be a software issue" and someone is sure that it must be a hardware problem. I think that I want to have a confirmation from xiaomi before giving my phone for weeks to the vendor.
