My Partner has the Mi-Pad 2 flashed with Miui 7 Global 5.12.24 beta.. we found it on the miui site(official) and was developed by a vietnamese group.... But is quite buggy... So she is KEEN to move on to a better/newer rom.... Other rom was flashed via fastboot so only has stock recovery and am not sure loosing MTP support is worth flashing TWRP.... So I am asking what are our next options etc what rom and was is the best way to get playstore, superuser etc fully working???

thanks in advance.

Just flash xiaomi.eu rom on your Mi Pad 2 via TWRP. You probably know that there's no MIUI 8 for Mi Pad / Mi Pad 2 so...

Last "dev" rom 6.5.26 (MIUI 7): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24566454284190003
TWRP recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24421527759888024

MIPAD 2 GOOGLE APPS REMOVED!
- We decided to remove Google apps from MiPAD 2 ROM due to unresolved ERROR 963..
- Install them separately after ROM installation via Google Installer or OpenGapps.org (x86_64 - 5.1 - pico) and update Google WebView

Did you wiped all data? Try to hold power button for 10-20 seconds and see if something change. Try 2 times!

sorted it but thank you for your help..

rooting is next.. what are the steps required??

Ok but flashed that and now stuck in a bootloop........ hmmmmm will start from scratch and see what happens!!!!

I flashed SU but no app... can't download it as getting the 963 error in market.

I take it youn have a mi-pad 2 so could you walk me throught what you did????
I don't have Mi Pad / 2, I have Mi4. The ways are the same for all devices. I'm pretty sure I could help to fix anything if I would have the Mi pad with me.

and if I knew I would use it!!! lol tried 2.46, 2.65, 2.74 all result in bootloop

7 reflashes of rom 14+ of superuser and finaly up and running NO ISSUES...

Thank you guys for trying to help....

1)Reinstalled previous fully working rom thats was also pre rooted (MobileCity-v1.0_Xiaomi-MiPad2_MIUI7-V5.12.24-Global_5.1)

2)then flashed lates EU rom

3)Flashed rooted using 2,46 su,

4)then flashed used gapps pico

5)finally finished by instlling GApps_IntelChipset

One final reboot and Now works perfectly, well other then a bug we have found which results in having to reunlock about 5 times before it stays unlocked!!! has happened twice so far

Excellent... Glad to see you got it working....
So am I as I had a rather upset Partner and she was not happy lol..... Tried every other way mention on the forum none of them worked.. The way I did is basically all or nothing and worked... She is happy and at least now it should be a breeze when an update comes out for the Mi-Pad 2..
