For some days my mi5 goes from 80-90% battery to 0% overnight. I recharged it and after a few hours and it happened again. The battery utility says everything is ok but it seems not.
Up to now i haven't any kind of problems at all:(
Any suggestions? Should i send it back to support? Should i try full wipe or flash another rom?

If you have root try with some apps like wakelock detector to see what is keeping your phone awake and then block it using MIUI battery saver ...If there is nothing wrong just try with a clean flash :)

I have the same battery malfunction on my Mi564gb..

I have tested with many stock and custom roms starting mui7.
My device drains 3-4% per hour even when powered off. When it is attentively used, avarage standby drain is around 8-10 % per hour..

I made use of many many battery usage test and repair apps to extend the battery life.. None cures the disease and none really extends the battery life..

I have no more option but to replace the battery itself. Unfortunatelly battery replacement of Mi5 is so much complicated. You may see from youtube videos for this..

I am not sure if a new battery will work well. AFAIK, from the inquires that I have been making for several weeks, it is highly possible there is faulty hardware and this might be motherboard itself..

Also i was using Xiaomi Global dev 6.11.10 latest rom to my Mi5 and battery gone during night also.
I did an update to Xiaomi.eu weekly 6.11.10 and voilá battery for two days all things turn on, wifi, sync, gps.

Ths for your concern..
I always keep my device sync disabled and no data /wifi /bt/gps conn.
Plus; Phone Mobile connection is 2G...
That's not normal at all. I have all bluetooth, snyc, wifi on and no issue. try factory reset and do a clean flash. I had similar issue in the past. it may be caused by dirty flash. dont forget to back up your data first.

@ Becakgaul, Ths for your concern..
I did it many times it is useless..
How do you comment if I tell my fact that it drains 5 % per hour when is turned power off..

Phone is only two months old.
I am on last beta.
Normal usage ond 60% for only whatsapp and little bit browsing today.
Really bad

Have you tried flashing the official ROM instead of EU? maybe it helps. if not, then the only possible answer is hardware issue. there may be some wiring or battery issues.

if you are looking for battery life. i wont recommend installing beta version. I used to have beta version for one or two months and install five to six different versions. my experience with battery life is not good. sometimes, i can only get 3 hours SoT with the same pattern. i'm using stable 8.1.1.0 now. i have a consistent 5 hours SoT from 100% to 10% for the past three weeks.

still considering updating.. has a good experience using 8.1.1.0 (it is more or less solves my gps issue and way better SoT compared to dev). there has been few people reported bugs (weather) in 8.1.3.0. i dont care about weather though. but, just afraid that it affects my gps again or other issues. So, im still bit hesitant to update. will wait for few days and see the feedback first.

My Mi5 /64 gb w/ rom eu 8.1.3.0. (MPdecision Mod enabled too) battery consumtion can be seen on the pics.
Consumtion without any activity meaning standby consumption is enuf only 17-18 hours.
As seen nothing drains the battery but battery itself or motherboard itself..

Maybe MODEM Radio HW or SW is wrong.??

just decided update 8.1.3.0, in term of battery life, I have average 6 hours. better than 8.1.1.0. but performance wise, i feel 8.1.1.0 is much smoother. 8.1.3.0 does solve my earphone issue though. So, i will stay with 8.1.3.0

People, I had same problem with my Mi4 and now with my MI5 after 12-18 months of use, and I reach the conclusion it's not ROM related, app related or configuration related.
If you do factory reset, cache partition clean, ROM replacement, saving battery configuration and battery still drains, it's only one of 3 things: 1- some part of your phone board overheats and that makes battery drain (the worst scenario) 2- battery gone bad and you have to replace it, or and almost no one thinks about this...3- Xiaomi phones and fast or quick chargers don't get along. Use like a iPhone charger or some low voltage smartphone charger and try it. In about 7-10 days of full charge cycles (almost 0-100%) your battery will start to retain charge to a normal level or almost close to that. Fast or Quick chargers ruin battery readings and power retain capacity...try not to use them, or just use them when you clearly need it. At home, weekends, vacations, use a slow charger. Cheers
