Who Has Redmi 4 Pro From Gearbest?

The shittiest decision made by others was the of locking the bootloader on Qualcomm devices, which can be flashed via EDL mode and dont need Fastboot to flashroms, because that defeat the purpose of locking the bootloader that Xiaomi gave its users, and that was to ensure that your device arrived untampered, and we can see that the devices are arriving tampered with fake roms and still the bootloader is locked

Yes, this is as I told.... the user has to go throught unimaginable pain to make full use of the device he has paid for, but everyone else is free to load it with crap.... now what shall I do? it is very very hard bricked... I think I need to disconnect the battery and try one last time with reset with test pin or deep flash cable methods.... or shall I send it back and ask for refund.... I did not unlock it and I did not open it... it still has stickers on it and is brand new: arrived only few days ago... THEY tampered with it and I should apply for refund and forever avoid Xiaomi's crap.

I would try the deepflash cable if I were you, its easier, faster and in every way better than returning and asking for a refund that may take weeks or may never even get back to you.

. I haven't even been able to unlock it... and I already tested with cable... no sign of life...

Install Mi Flash, it will install all the necessary drivers, but you have to disable windows driver signature verifycation first.
Now when you connect the mobile it should show Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E in device manager, although for flashing you need Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, thats why you need deep flashing cable.

Try to charge it first.
For verifycation maybe use linux (boot it from usb stick) - dmesg command should show the phone.

Someone in XDA also suggested another method instead of deep flash cable.

Some others used this method instead for 900E problem, seems to work. Just read it from other forums

Wait!!!! I tried something from video!!!! It has restarted!!! I think I have recovered from the point I made the mistake not to wait enought with power button pressed... it seems it is loading... maybe the rom I was trying to flash (flashed succesfully actually)... maybe I have recovered... now I need to wait at least 15 minutes to see if it will correctly reboot!

Keep that video handy because it explained how to "hard reset" or force-reset the phone: keep pressed volume + AND power button AND as same time repeatedly press volume - .

This has resetted my phone... now I need to wait and see what happens!

Now it is also unlocked: I followed one of the guides to do so, obviously I received the authorization from Xiaomi.

Great news! Thanks for sharing the video.

EDIT:
Now I wonder which method is safer:
1. Flashing fastboot ROM using XiaoMiFlash BETA in EDL mode or
2. Flashing recovery ROM using Chinese version of Mi PC Suite in recovery mode.

Well both methods should be safe.
I used miflash in edl (ADB reboot edl)
Because you can do it without a deep flash cable or chinese only Software.

I managed to brick my phone with a failed edl flash (it seemed to get stuck, was running for about 20 mins and I cancelled it!).

Anyway I managed to recover it last week using exactly the same method as shown in the video using the chinese only Mi PC Suite and a massive combination of guess work as I couldn't read any of it!

Posting in case someone in ends up in a similar mess as I did.

thank you for the video , I install the china rom , but china rom its a mess , I have ask for unlock but if not arrive
have any solution to go back , because the global rom of geekbuying it was way better that china mess without playstore

Do you have 100 points in Security check-up?
What is your user rank on en.miui.com forum?
What have you written as a reason of unlocking? Something original or just copied-pasted?

I dont now what magic word need but only the truth what I like and don t like.

My Redmi 4 arrived yesterday. It was a easy unlocking procedure, thanks to all!

I already had a MI Account and the permission to unlock with MI Unlock.

The only things I had to do:
Install China Dev Rom with Chinese MI - Suite.

Unlock with MI Unlock.

Install Cofface TWRP.

Install miui.eu weekly rom.

Install Supersu.

Everything fine!

Btw. : Redmi 4 running fast and feels good!
