Hi,I got problem witch this feature, latest stable 9.5.1 Miui 9 from xiaomi.eu,after flashing new rom it counts ok,first day it shows distance etc, tomorrow 0 counter not working...phone is not restarted or blocked any app, everything is on default miui settings, why its working first day after flashing and another not?

Hi Mate,
i have the same problem with the dev version, sometimes it's ok sometimes not, i assume it's difficult to find the proper setting, and maybe the hardware is not very "friendly" with this feature :), but yes what's strange when it's working, it's only the first day, so maybe it's only a problem of reset the 0?
Next stable update could fix this problem.

Updating this:
I've found it set to 0 when you clear the RAM (destroying Apps) but it's unable to start again. Anyone knows a workaround?

Hi mate, this is a good news, it means the next step is to find the process to never shutdown (if possible)

Good news, next time must check it,so if you closing apps by swiping left/right then it works?

Swiping the apps does not stop the step counter. Only when clear the RAM.

I cant find the process.

But the good news is I think is already fixed in miui10. I still having my steps counted even cleaning the RAM after a reboot since the last update.

I have 8.8.9 xiaomi.eu and this issue is from miui 9,checked beta and stable versions and it is all the time

only solution i have discovered is to reboot phone and then counter works but next day shows 0(not working) no matter to clear ram or not,so it is bugged

try this then (this what I did before)
Open the step counter configuration (where it let you select mifit or steps)
Hold the button which let you see the tasks
Hold over that card (I dont know how it is in english, in spanish is Tarjeta Rápida).
Check auto start.

I do not know how to unrestric the battery usage, so I cant help with that.
