Dear All,

I had to switch from my old to a new Mix 3.
They have both same specs SD845 6GB/128GB and both are ModelM1810E5A
I made a full backup of my old phone with twrp and also of internal storage.

Copied all to the new phone, restored per TWRP and booted up.

So far so fina, its the same phone now as my old one. I get all connection bt, nfc, wifi all is working.
The sims aren't recognized on boot (Sim 1 = AIS / Sim 2 = True H, both Thailand Carrier)
When taking out and re-inserting both Sims are recognized, but I get no signal and can't find manually any networks, nor automatically.

I tried to re-flash efs,but it stays the same.

Please I need urgent help on this one, whiel I use the phone for work

What partitions exactly did you copy from the old phone?
What can be backuped depends on the TWRP.

Possibly you copied something that should not have been.

Check your IMEI numbers in the new phone against what is printed on its box, to start with I think.

IMEI is ok.
I made a copy of all partitions possible.
copied internal store in twrp via adb, after that flashed my backup.
At startup everything runs nice, except that the sims get no signal.
first they arent shown at all, after re-insert, both sims pop up, even with all carrier infos, but no signal

I've made a full flash with the global stable, but the issue remains.

Hey I just see, that after I flashed the stock rom, my imei is gone. how to fix that?

OK. I see my failure now.
I must have copied th imei from phone one to phone two......

Flashing the global leave me now completely without imei.

I will try to set the imei again and will try the whole process, without copying? what efs or is there more to be skipped?
and what about imei repair? any help is deeply appreciated

OK, I see I'm in trouble, due i have only a backup of my other phone.
i have both still here with original packing, is there any hope i go to the next shop and they flash it new?

Or will they always want to replace the board?

I would have thought fastboot flashing an official Xiaomi rom of correct type should have solved your problem.

If that didn't I'm not the right person to help you further.
I never did buy a Mix 3.

I would suggest you post your problem at XDA, you're more likely to get help there I think.

What the shop could do I have no idea, you can always ask them.

By the way, be careful doing things in TWRP, even the official ones.

They don't always take and restore backups correctly, and they often let you do things you really shouldn't do.

Yes, I'm normally aware of that and never used it in a way like this.
Just everytime I switch phones, there is so much trouble about software (some you will always have to purchase again after switch).

I just hoped, to get an easy switch this time, while i not changed anything, but I have to admit, that I didnt really checked on the partitions, that i included.
I wasn't even aware, that the imei could be copied (maybe corrupted, but this??)

I will try to flash back my backup and then try to change the imei, while without one it didn't worked at all (with the copied one, I should be at least be able, to change the number through a hex editor and try it again)

If not I will try to speak with the shop i purchased ot (online shop.........), I think my chances are bad, but let's see.

I also hoped a clean flash will solve it, bbut it seems even worth after applying the global stable. Imei is totally gone after that, tried to set it with a tool, but it seems, that it doesn't work, as long as there is no imei.

You "shouldn't" be able to affect the IMEI with normal use of a correctly functioning TWRP, but who knows.

You could post your problem at XDA and see if anyone has had similar problems.

Solved.
Went to the nearest Mi service today. They werent able to fix it, but exchanged the board and I got a new imei this way.
Defenitely will not use the twrp backup i had made anymore.

BUt bad shock, I have to wait now 30 days for oem unlock?!?!?

Anyhow, happy they fixed it under warranty. So got quite lucky away.

Good for you!

Yes, I would then advise against restoring any TWRP backup on the Mix 3.
