Hi,

I'm new to Xiaomi brand and android in general. i have using iphones for the last 10yrs and i decided to take the leap 2 months ago to the Mi note 10. Which was an amazing experience the only thing i felt it was lacking was the cpu inside. Apart from that an amazing phone. Shortly after the Mi 10 was released in china.

With my experience was only iphones which release the same verison in most parts of the world and i wanted th eMi 10 asap. i ordered one from Hong kong and due to be delivered to me in the UK this thursday.

When i ordered the Mi 10 i didn't realise there's a difference between the roms that are supplied in different parts of the world. i know im thick...

So my question is the Mi 10 i will receive will not have all the LTE 4G bands chinese rom needed for the UK, its missing B20. would the EU or global rom fix this problem.

Any advice of obviously welcome and appreciated.

Many Thanks

Z

Sorry to say but no B20, means China phone version, you will not get it available in changing the rom version.
LTE band settings are hardware secured and buried.
Note: Also Iphone are area locked the same.... They have several model set in order to serve different market, not any worldwide version.

Oh that's a shame, i will have see what the reception is like when it arrives tomorrow. I was hoping it would be software based. Thanks for the reply

Good Evening,

I recently purchased a Mi 10 5G from some chinese place and it's got chinese bloatware and notifications.
Is there a UK rom i can install or a rom that i can actually understand.

Hi Ray

How are you finding the signal for 4G?

Is it ok

Rom wise I would wait for the global release and use the global rom. I don’t know if this is possible. I’m going to look into once it’s released

Thanks

The signal is fine.

The major issue for me is lack of 800Mhz support, however I also use Vodafone aswell as Three so it's not a major issue as such.

Hi
Does the 5G work in the UK?

That is fantastic information.

I'm on 3 and xiaomi support told me 5G would not work in the UK with 3 5G.

May I ask where you bought it from?
Thanks

I bought it from a company called TradingShenzhen.

You can see this here.

If you scroll down you'll see the device supports
B78 (3500) which is what's basically deployed across every mobile network in the UK atm.
It also shows it's compatible with Three, EE and Vodafone currently.

The only issue is on 4G as three uses band 20 (800Mhz) for VoLTE and it isn't enabled on band 3 so you'll never get VoLTE on Three, unless of course they decide to launch VoLTE to band 3 also.

I use Vodafone also as a dual sim so
Luckily Vodafone has VoLTE deployed against other bands.

I don't use VoLTE . So I think I am good to go.

Just sorting out where to buy it from.

Sent you a PM

Why would you would to sell such a new device? ^^

Because I needed it to work on B20 4G LTE as I use O2

I didn’t realise when I ordered it there are different versions I thought it was only the rom that’s different, my loss

This does use Band 3. Which I think is 4g on 3 network? @X-Ray

I want the Pro 5G version.

I live just outside of Birmingham.

yep, no matter what I do only get H+ when using my O2 sim. I tried my works Vodafone sim in it and I got 4G.

not sure why O2 isn’t working, I know I won’t get the full range on O2 because band 20 is missing from the mi 10 on the Chinese version

gutted really, it’s an amazing phone

Is it true that Android Pay does not work on the CN version?
thanks
I've personally not tried it, but if I load up android pay it lets me add a card or select a new one.

I will check to see if it works tomorrow and let you know
