I noticed that the Gmail app don't notify me when a new email arrives.
I gave all permissions the app needed but it still occurring.
The notification only arrives when I start the app. If I close it, no notifications is sent to me.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s MIUI 11 EU V11.0.9.0.QJWMIXM stable, I have the same problem, no battery optimizations or gmail wrong settings.

just try to let you sync option turned on and enable autostart on each app u want and your problem will be solved

I have activated the above and a few more things that have been recommended in other answers, but the problem persists and I don't know why. As a temporary solution, I use Outlook.

I just installed EU rom and having the same problem, no matter how I change notification settings I won’t get push notifications from Gmail.

I have noticed the same bug, although working after autostart and no restrictions. BUT it works sporadically... whenever it wants to and how it wants to...
Regarding MI Mail I have the same problem, not using GMAIL app at all, deleted it. Also set to autostart and all, push notifications are not ok... When the screen is on it is 1.5-2 mins late, and if the screen is off, no mail will ever come on, no notification at all (set to come at the lockscreen), then after I turn the screen on and start using the phone it will come through after some time...

Any solution?

In gmail settings click the middle option titled as your email address.
In notification box if it's set to "high priority only", change it to "all".

I also disabled the stock "mail" app as a safety measure

The same issue is following me on the stable roms from 12.2.2 (mi 10) or even earlier. Notification is appearing only if I uncheck Sync button in the shade and check it again. Just installed latest stable 12.2.7 rom and it's sill not working. Any idea how to fix it?

I have the same problem. The strange thing is that it appeared 6 mounts ago, then somehow I have solved it, and this days it appeared again. All Gmail settings and Battery Saver settings are in the favoure of getting all notifications for all email accounts, but still nothing for 5 days. In desperation I drop down Control Center from the Toolbar and turned on Battery Saver, then after few sec turned it off again and suddenly gmail notifications started pooping up on my screen. I do not know if this is a permanent or temporary solution, but for know it is serving me fine :)

Anyone still having this issue?
I still can't get Gmail push notifications.
Uninstalled - reinstalled - Autostart - No battery optimization done; any other advice?
Thank you

Thanks but I don't have this module installed on my system.
Any other suggestions please?
It's not only about a systemless host module. It's about f2fs issue caused magisk. You can follow a related link in the github issue for more information. Xiaomi should fix it in the kernel.

But! Actually in the last update I didn't install magisk and still have a floating issue with synchronization. Now I don't know what to think about it ‍♂️
