Hey so this will be the first time I ever flashed anything and I have a question. I found a Official Global Rom from EN.miui and I was curious on what's the difference between using that and using the stable ROMs on here? If I use the ROMs on here how difficult is it to update since they won't be automatic? Will the Official Global Rom allowed automatic updates from the other site?

The stock global uses Google's phone and message app. The Xiaomi EU ROM is a custom ROM based on the current stock Chinese but with soooo much more. 2 versions, weekly beta or stable. Updates on the weekly are nearly weekly, stable is every few weeks.
Update by twrp recovery which is really easy and hopefully soon, ota updates too.

I found a guide on how to flash the EU Rom but I can't find one on how to do the updates. I have never used twrp

Update is really easy once twrp is installed and your first EU ROM is in use. You just download the update and keep it in its .zip format.
Reboot to recovery using the long press on the power button and select reboot and recovery or via settings, my device, pressing on the 12 and then use sub menu three dots top right corner.
Once booted in to twrp, type in your screen lock and select install, select update, slide the slider to the right. Once done, select wipe dalvik and cache from the selection that will be Infront of you, slide the slider again to action then select reboot system and you are done. First boot after update will be slower than normal but as long as you see miui and 5g your ok.

Does anyone have a TWRP recovery - where we can get OTA updates for EU ROM ? Please share the process or link or steps .
Twrp is available from the link on the ROM download page of this forum and where the updates are. As for 11 Ultra ota updates, not yet available in this twrp but hopefully shortly but read my post above, it's really easy to update

Hi Bro, I have Global ROM on my purchased mob, I want to install EU ROM. Please share me the link, where you said, you have found one. Appreciate it. Do we need to remove mi account and google account etc, before installing EU ROM. How to restore the backup ? Is there any best way to take backup of the existing phone as EU ROM will erase everything. Please help guys. Appreciate it.

Thanks,
You keep your mi account and if you have not yet unlocked your bootloader, you need it to unlock the phone.
There are many threads about flashing your first EU ROM and TWRP installation and I have just added 2 posts above on how to update. All the links to stable or weekly are on the ROM download pages as is a link to twrp. Hope you join us real soon.

Hi Mark,

I dont understand why everyone is talking about TWRP and flasing, when we can install directly using the fastboot after unlocking the bootloader. Can you please see this video and advise the difference between installing through TWRP /flashing and installing through fastboot. Its so damn confusing. the guy in the video says, just unlock the bootloader and download the EU ROM from this site, the latest monthly stable and then - double click on it to install.

hi guys, I have finally installed the stable rom on my MI 11 through fastboot. I am happy with it. Hurray, I could install all my apps back except a few, not sure why...I have installed them manually. But I have a question, how can we update the apps now ? Like the app update is quite different than the regular play store app update. Is it the same way we update the apps in google play store ? Please advise. how to do it ? and 2nd, we cant get system apps update right ? So every time there is a new version in this site, we need to update through PC ? Is that it ? Please update how to get the app updates and firmware updates etc.,

last question is how can we get the security updates ? Like I am a bit scared to use banking or financial apps on this unlocked bootlaoder, unofficial EU ROM. Are there any measures we need to take or install any certificates or apps etc., Please dont mind for asking silly questions. I am a bit worried as this is my first time using an unofficial xiaomi rom. thanks for reading.

Cheers

Did you ever figure it out?

All good ...everything works, google pay, netflix etc., google play store app updates...no difference than global rom.
Which one do you prefer EU or Global? My Bootloader 7 day period should be up tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out which one to get
