I am on android 12 based xiaomi.eu 12.6 on my mi10u. Ever since the first android 12 release right up to the 21.12.8 release, my Bluetooth has been not working well. For drives that used to work well, I had to disable Bluetooth or turn on airplane mode then enabled them again for the devices to connect. Didn't matter if it is headphones or the vehicle. Unpairing then repairing them didn't help.

This problem started since the first November beta release and has gotten worse in android 12. I am not sure what logs will be required to take as no app is crashing. Just that devices simply can't connect.

Please try changing these options in Developer options

Going through the same issue on MIUI 13, latest weekly(21.12.30) on apollo(Mi 10T/Redmi K30S Ultra), I tried Do's suggestion, it didn't work, sadly, Bluetooth is completely broken for me :/

I used to have connection issue with Huawei Freebud 4i until i found out that AVRCP was set to 1.5 by default on A12. I changed to 1.4 which was on A11 and i fixed my problem.

I think that mine is likely a different problem, I've toggled out with those a bit some minutes ago, but couldn't make it work, sadly

I have the same issue on version later than 12.5.3.
Pairing with audio devices are fine on my phone. But using bluetooth to unlock door, pair gopro, pay money and etc are all with issue. I also need to turn on and off airplane mode to temporarily solve the issue. It is really annoying every time to do it.

I found it was related to battery saving. If the battery mode is set to performance. Then the issue does not appear.
So the root cause might be that bluetooth is set to power saving mode which cause the issue.

Did you try to reset it?

Since Android 12, i also have problems with bluetooth. My 11Ultra doenst receive data from my car OBD adapter. I can connect the adapter but the phone receive no data. No problem with Android 11.

I have Xiaomi 11 lite, MIUI 13, Android 12. In Developer options I set Bluetooth to the earliest possible 1.3 and 1.2 respectively. See attached screenshot. My Bluetooth issue got resolved this way. I have 2 Bluetooth headsets. Both connect ok. One is Philips, the other is JVC

Found the solution! When you open the top quick menu to activate Bluetooth, click the small corner arrow on the Bluetooth button to open the devices connected window. On this window select the cars radio name. It will move to the top as it tries to connect. Now spam it, keep pressing it. This will make it connect very quickly and prevent the cycle of connecting and discounting. You're welcome!
