It worked for me, only thing I had to do is remove the pin while flashing it. Afterwords used a pin and TWRP decrypt.

I wouldn't like to remove the PIN, since I have many apps, which I open with Fingerprint (which is dependent on PIN). If I remove the PIN, I must create a new Fingerprint and renew it for every App, which is registered for the current Fingerprint..
Why you had to remove it?

+1 asking, the same situation, WHY

@gogocar62 Is it required to remove PIN/Fingerprint before flashing TWRP to Recovery Ramdisk ?

@Schumi_wk said he had to do it.

Me and @Stefanlong would like to know if this is really necessary and if so, for what reason?

Can't TWRP decrypt the internal storage if a PIN is already present during the first TWRP boot? Then maybe that could be bypassed by flashing TWRP from USB OTG to Recovery Ramdisk instead from internal storage?

And last:

Please excuse the many questions, but I would like to know what's going on :)

It is not necessary to delete the password / PIN of the lock screen. (If a problem occurs, you can change the PIN to Pattern.)

Because it's a post from an old weekly thread that was locked.

I successfully flashed the TWRP for the Mi 11 Ultra. The first time I booted into TWRP via Fastboot mode, I was asked for my screen unlock PIN. I entered this and confirmed with the "blue tick". After that, the internal storage was successfully decrypted. I switched the language from Chinese to my language. Via "Install" I flashed the TWRP.img from the internal memory to Recovery Ramdisk. After that I'm using the arrow keys back to the main screen. There I chose "Restart" to "Recovery" to start TWRP again. MTP worked immediately and I was able to access my internal storage via Windows Explorer. i am very happy I still have to test backups, otherwise it works wonderfully. :emoji_thumbsup:

Thanks @gogocar62 for your answers and your instruction how to install: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/22-6-15.66132/page-5#post-661698
And thanks for your Screenshot how to change the language (attached)

Backup of data doesn't work with the new TWRP for Mi 11 Ultra for Android 12.
Error creating backup. ... createTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255 Backup Failed."

IIn older Threads for older TWRPs/Android Versions/Devices - there's often mentioned to delete a folder with TWRP Terminal:
" rm /data/extm -Rf "
But in another Thread one User said, he was able to do Backups after deleting this folder, but if he try to restore the backup, phone goes to Bootloop and he has to flash Rom again.

So I don't want to do that. I hope there will be a really working TWRP in the future. Backup and the possibility for working restore is the main reason for me to use TWRP.
If this doesn't work, it's useless.

I do not have any Dual Apps and haven't activated this function at all.

1. Sichern Sie Boot.img und Super.img. (vendor_boot.img nur erforderlich, wenn die Spannungen und/oder Frequenzen für den Grafikchip geändert wurden).2.. data/App over the intern Backup. 3.

Again, especially for data backup!! It is not enough to back up data via TWRP alone it should always copy the content of data/media/0 to the PC the content of data/app does the internal backup program at the cn Roms very well, or double moped data in the twrp additionally backup.

Thx for that post....
But can somebody tell me for what I need twrp then?
Don't understand - wish back fastboot for my mi11pro

Backup of /data doesn't work for me with the new TWRP for Mi 11 Ultra.
I tried to use the workaround with TWRP Terminal:
" rm /data/extm -Rf " and I tried it with manually delete the folder data/extm with TWRP Filemanager.
At least I tried with deleting of Dalvik/Cache before Backup.
I tried about 6 Backups.
No matter what I do, Backup ends with error:
"Error creating backup. ... createTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255 Backup Failed."
I used TWRP for Mi 11 Ultra from here:

I see from logs that you have a font leftover in /data/fonts/files/~~TcVo-NvfSHhhWHH0rgmSKA==/NotoColorEmoji.ttf
Remove that .ttf file and backup will work.
