Hey there good folks,

I've been away for a while using my k30 Pro and all has been good. I'm still on stable 12.5.7 android 11 and for 98% all is good.

But lately I've been having notification issues so I thought I would look here for an update.

My question is... Is it worth updating for any particular reason? Function? Speed? Etc? And so what version?

I also read we can install through TWRP like before if I manually download the latest stable?

I'm getting an OTA for 12.5 miui v13.0.6..should I go with it or download a newer?

Thanks for any advice

Don't see much the point of going beyond 12.5, if everything is working properly.
If you have TWRP, you can update to the latest, which is 13.0.6.
The first ones with Android 12, didn't allow TWRP, but now you only update with it.
But always double check this information.

It will stop on Android 12.

The MIUI is a "mask" on android with some added functionalities.

Right now, the latest version is MIUI 14.

Yeah I kinda thought so... So does miui 14 on android 12 run well? Is it a stable rom, worth to update? Any major bugs? I can't find any info about this rom anywhere..?
Mostly no problems.

But what you did with 12.5 is the same what you can do with 14, perhaps even more. You will see.

The ROM is available for OTA upgrade or manual upgrade. Is up to you.

I'm on TWRP 3.4.2 with root, are there any issues with doing a OTA install? I guess I lose root after, but other than that? Do I need to decrypt? Or just run the OTA?

Thanks again for the speedy replies

I strongly advise for you to update the TWRP to the latest version. Just to be safe.

After that, by OTA, the recovery will do everything for you.

I've been searching and the latest I could find is 3.5.1, is there a newer? Or official that I haven't found?

Update * i found this... Could this be the latest? https://sourceforge.net/projects/re...files/lmi/twrp-3.7.0_12-v7.7_A13-lmi-skkk.img

And install is only through fastboot?

You need TWRP for Android 12

If your current TWRP can see the storage you can update to the new TWRP in it.
Cheers, but you say update twrp in it.. You mean in the TWRP app itself? (I don't have it installed) so download the image and run it through the app?

Update* ok, through the official app with the downloaded img...I presume that even if the poco f2 Pro/k30pro is not in the list of devices I can just select any device and select the side loaded img and flash?

Hi there, quick question, I updated TWRP from the link, and now when I boot into recovery my pattern unlock does not decrypt the user data..? And If I update to the new ROM will it still work? Or fail? Without access to the data Partition?

I tried changing the phone lock to both pin and pattern but when I enter the pin/pattern in TWRP it said fails to decrypt... But I can boot to the system of course...

*Update, so if I remove the screen lock entirely then thr phone can boot into recovery with access to the data Partition.. So I guess I should update to the new firmware with the screen lock off... Right?

Cheers

That was what I was about to suggest you. No locking.

Yes, I think you can update now.

Yup, that's what I thought as well, do you have any knowledge what happens to widevine L1 certification, I remember I had to do some strange fingerprint thing through terminal to get it working... Also root with magisk i guess should work fine?

Sorry.. Just want to know as much as I can before I test it as it can alway fail haha

I had issues with widevine with the 12.5.7 firmware im using now.. But I haven't had the balls yet to flash the newest.. I have 230gb of user data on the phone and no where to back it up.... So... I'm a little anxious...

You really need to back it up to be sure. Find some old HDD to save it there...

So strange now... The Bluetooth toggle, just stopped working.. Meaning I toggle Bluetooth on and close the menu and then open it again and it's off...

So now nearby share doesn't work.. And the only thing I did was to update the TWRP...

Any idea how this can be fixed?

So... After a manual update to the latest rom 14.0.5 Bluetooth was still dead.. So I factory reset and Bluetooth came back.. Very strange.. But I'm happy it all works now.
