That's wierd, because I'm using 2.3.23 version right now (SGS2). I did a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and have installed the *zip without any boot problems. Did you checked the md5 checksum of your *zip ? Maybe somethings got corrupted.

chompSMS from Google Play will temporary solve the duplicate sms issue. Just use this app instead of ordinary MIUI messaging app untill it's fixed.

Bare in mind that V4 for SGS2 is quite a new port. This is just a second release so you shall expect bugs. If you don't want to help out with bug reports/posting logcat, etc; you shouldn't really rush on fridays and download the newest version before other people can confirm that there is no...

Unfortunately the only fix I found is to revert back to the previous release. Have even tested third party SMS apps with no luck. Hope that MIUI team can fix it untill next release. Really annoying bug..

TheWierd: Downgrade the Market App - older version does not freeze/reboot the phone.

Somehow the Market App v.3.4.4 is b***ed on MIUI. Downgrading to earlier version solves the problem (for now) - tested myself - no reboots since using the earlier version of Market App.

Same problem here. MIUI 1.12.23 (and .30 version reported) have this issue on SGS2. I don't know if it's got broken with MIUI weekly update or Market App update itself (current version 3.4.4). You can replicate this bug while browsing the Market. After a while it will freeze, reboot and drain...
