Sorry for the late, reply, but you can just upgrade to miui10 using normally the zip file via TWRP. Done that!

Thank you for the reassurance! Would you mind specifying what is your device's "anti" value after having been upgraded to eu's miui 10?

Phone is currently anti=4 and running global 9.6.4.0 as depicted in the attached screenshot. Incidentally an update notification is pending, trying to entice me to install an update (probably V10.0.1.0.OEIMIFH (MIUI9) , but I prefer to use the eu firmware. Would anyone replying elaborate on...

I've read somewhere that the Mi 5X is the Mi A1 hardware, with MIUI on top. Not true?

Can the mi5x-Tiffany rom be installed on the A1-Tissot? Has anyone actually done it successfully?

I am experiencing sluggish ROM download which may terminate early with no indication. Are ROM files accompanied by an MD5 to enable verification of a proper download?

Upgraded to 5.6.18. Still no contact photos on incoming calls. BTW the photos do appear in the Call Log, and obviously in Contact List.

Running MIUI6 latest version, 5.6.11 . Photo does exist in contact list. also, when rolling back to MIUI5 (45.0.0) problem disappears.

Ran stock recovery (please conform that that IS stock recovery). Getting update.zip not found error. However update.zip does exist, as shown by the screen captures. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks!

This seems to happen randomly on its own while the phone is in standby. A long press on the on/off button will cause the phone to recycle and return to normal. admittedly this is an infrequent phenomena which I can live with, however it would be nice if there were a way to make it go away.
