How To Install Custom Recovery After Miui6 Lollipop Flash

hi there. I have installed last 5.5.1 build of MIUI6 based on lollipop 5.0.2. my previous setup was TWRP 2.8.5.0, no dual-boot configured, running AOSP 4.4.4 kitkat. I performed a NANDroid backup via TWRP and wiped data, then I simply flashed the 5.5.1 build .zip file. after flash succeeded, I...

xposed with 5.1 works like a charm, but not all modules are supported ATM. we need to wait for developers to update them to make them work on 5.1 builds. about battery drain: I use AOSP 4.12.5 from december, and never suffered excessive battery drain. try to take a look at processes which wake...

AOSP 5.0 + xposed [and a bunch of modules - see screenshot attached] is my daily driver since december 2014. no relevant bugs noticed. just a BT stack not perfect.. but I can live with it.

many thanks for your detailed feedback. this is a daily driver ROM for everyone who doesn't use bluetooth connections all the way. things I miss the most is xposed framework modules. xposed framework is properly installed flashing the .zip and installing the .apk file, but several modules are...

you must have a working MIUI ROM with all your stuff within [call logs, backup, etc..]. from there, you have to install EBR and perform a backup through that app. once done, export the folder /Backups EBR created on your sdcard, and move it onto your PC. then you can reboot to recovery and do...

backup your call logs, sms, etc. with this app. then restore works 100% on lollipop AOSP. I use it as a dalily driver for call logs, sms, and dictionary. for apps backup I use titanium.

not at all. bluetooth stack on his three 5.0.2 releases was really fragile. I use the 4.12.5 as a daily driver since its release.

thanks for reporting this. now it is fixed. I tried AOSP 5.1 for a while, just a few hours, and didn't notice relevant bugs. I flashed it via TWRP [the same linked in OP].

after installing the ROM or even after flashing xposed framework, the phone takes a while after displaying the bootanimation. let it settle down for 5 minutes. if after that time it still stucks, then reboot to recovery and try to wipe all.

xposed framework for lollipop 5.1 works flawlessly on my Mi2s. troubles affects modules installed, which lead to bootloops. 'til now, I have successfully tried xsuite, but with xposed additions module I stuck on a bootloop.

for anyone who's interested, there's a "super-alpha" unofficial version of xposed framework that sould work on android 5.1. I am going to try it in the next few hours and report back issues. if you want, you can point to the XDA thread here...
