5G on Redmi K30 5G with EU rom not working

Hi All
The other day I was in an area which should have 5G coverage. I noticed 5G showing on the home screen network status indicator.

But when I checked available mobile networks I did not see a 5G network listed.

Why would 5G be showing on the home screen network status indicator nut not in the available mobile networks?
Phone is running MIUI by xiaomi.eu 12.5.3.0.RGICNXM (Stable)
According to Kimovil my carrier (Telstra Australia) runs n78 (3500) 5G.

On top of this I ran a Telstra speed test at this time and got a download speed of 29.7Mbps . Ran the same test on my wifes iphone 7 at this time and got a got a download speed of 97.9Mbps!!
I am hoping to get 5G working on this phone.
Any assistance on this issue would be most appreciated.

With my provider it's the same thing, I select provider 4g there is never provider 5g, the telephone displays 5g depending on the availability of the antenna otherwise it remains in 4g +..(More speed because the antenna is in 700).
it may be different in your country.


Have you selected 5g preferred network?
Have you checked that the parameters of the Apn are correct?
Is there a 3500 antenna nearby?
