No, after installation there are no Google apps visible. Have tried several times and had to go back to global ROM 9.5.18...google services are installed and it detects they are installed but no icons, no way to open the apps etc

I'm using Mi5 with 8.5.24.
It's laggy, hot and drain battery fast.

The notification system also have a lot of change, notification sound is doubled on every notification. Yahoo app for example, the option to choose notification sound is missing.

He's using a stable Nougat build that was released in late April.
Latest Oreo releases for Mi 5 already have a new patch pre-applied, so you have nothing to worry about.

Yes. You need to enable debug adb on the device and give the permission in the window that appears. Then use the commands in adb on pc.
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 (application name, example, com.android.email)

Thank you for all your work. This version was unusuble on Redmi Note 5 pro/global. Sluggish and slow. Latest stable is great except for att slight millisecond lagg in touch when typing. Tried different keyboards. It's the same. Just in case I tried officiall firmware again and the lagg is gone.
