New 9.10.31 Mi 9 & Mi MIX 3: Battery Drain Play Store

App updates in the Google Play Store will cause the battery to be very heavily discharged.
This is happening on a Mi 9 with clean install (format data: yes) and on the Mi MIX 3 (dirty install)

I noticed similar on my RN5 Pro, though not as bad. Turning off auto-update in Play store resolved it for me.
