A really general, maybe dumb question

I've had my poco f3 for about a month now and I am fairly happy with it. Turned off most of the ads etc, but I still hear people singing the praises about the EU roms so I thought I'd drop by.

I found the thread on How to install it, but I have one question first:
Will this reset my whole device? Or is it more like a regular update?

Yes, the xiaomi.eu ROM installation process resets (erases) the phone.
