accidental gallery delete

Can we get an update or mod to prevent accidental delete folders or files from gallery by putting passcode to do that in stock gallery app
My child deleted cam folder which contains all my pics from 3 years :-(

I back mine up every few weeks.
I know it's not helpful, but you'd lose them if you lost your phone too...
You could lock the gallery using the settings in miui?
