arabic support and NOT translation

I came here because I'm looking for a patch or some kind of an update that supports Arabic, meaning correcting the Arabic letters to be connected, not translation of the rom into arabic.

Are there any patches that can fix Arabic letters to be connected?

I would also really like to have full support for arabic shaping (RTL support would be awesome). It's been done with CM6 so it's possible to port it over.

There is a patch available for 0.10.29 that can be found here. Using it on the latest release of MIUI results in a failure to boot.

I've been compiling a RTL fix since version 10.15 for hebrew users. Soon as i get close to a computer i'll post it on the arabic translation thread.

Instructions:
1)flash the rom and start it. (in case the rom is already installed you don't have to make this step)
2)go to recovery and flash the RTLFix ZIP

That's it!!

Let me understand this, is that for Hebrew or Arabic? My initial question was regarding Arabic.

Also, is that the language update WITH RTL or just the RTL fix? If the former, then where's the lang update itself?

This is only RTL fix, no language pack included.
As Hebrew and Arabic are RTL languages it should work on both.
I've opened a dedicated thread to concentrate all the information and will update there the fix every week.

Yes all we are looking for is Arabic support where we can read and write connected Arabic letters. Every thing about this Rom and the android os in general is great the only thing its missing is the Arabic support. Thanks for the great work.
