Black screen

Device: Xiaomi Mi A1

Today the screen on my phone turned black - it is still on (I can log on WhatsApp Web and hear calls).
I tried rebooting (pressing power + volume up) but I can't see the menu - I'm pretty sure it did open because I pressed power another couple of times and it seemed like my phone turned off and on again (indicated by the small led on top because the screen remained black.
What can I do? It's really a problem for me to get it to a lab or buy a new one right now.

Try to enter recovery...power button and volume+ ...in recovery wipe cache partition..reboot....
If that doesn't work..
Boot to recovery and do a factory reset...
Do you have TWRP ?
The procedure is different with a custom recovery...

I cant see the screen - like I said, it's black when i do power + volume too
