New Bug S3

Hi, recently installed MIUI android last night.
Phone : Samsung Galaxy s3 (SCH-I535)
android ver : 4.1.2
miui : 3.2.22

I'm having headphone issues.
Ex: let's say I'm in a skype call, I have my headphones plugged in, the status bar shows them, yet they don't work. Instead the phone will use the external speakers.
To fix this I usually just re-plug my headphones back in & they get sound again.. but my partner on skype says it makes an incredible loud noise. (Note : Even after plugging them back in they just 'disconnect' again over *& over)
Any fix to this? It's aggravating if I'm always in skype.

Another issue : Batteries.
My battery does not last long at all.
The phone also gets really hot when charging or using apps. It's annoying, and I'm worried.
I just did a wipe cache / daliv (or whatever it's called)
My theme is not the stock one; so the lock screen shouldn't be a problem.
I've tried looking this up; people say to use a different kernel, but I don't know of any?
