Can I save data from my 8T?

On my 8t that has unlocked bootloader and xiaomi.eu MIUI11 ROM I wanted to add root (magisk).

I did most stupid thing today along with not making backup of my data.

I did not come here first, but now I know that I should, so I foolishly installed disabled dm-verity and now I am stuck on boot screen.


Please tell me there is some way to recover data from the phone or undo the installation of dm-verity disabler.

so just for the reference if someone does the same stupid thing as I did, here are the steps of what I did to restore the phone and data completely to previous state:

• made 'data' partition backup in twrp
• went to mount and enabled MTP to transfer the data to my computer (just copy/pasted whole 'Internal memory' folder), along with twrp backup folder
• flashed stock ROM with fastboot, not twrp, be sure that you don't lock your device (just select "clean all" on the bottom of mi flash tool)
• flashed twrp on the phone again because i lost it
• copied custom rom to phones memory
• flashed custom rom, wiped dalvik cache
• turned on the phone, did minimal setup
• went back to twrp and restored 'data' partition
• wiped on advanced wipe just dalvik cache/ART
• pasted back whole internal folder and merged it with the existing one
