Can't flash TWRP on Mi8

Hey!
I have an unlocked Mi8:

$ fastboot oem device-info                                               
...
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: true
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
OKAY [  0.001s]
finished. total time: 0.001s

But still, when I enter fastboot and try to flash TWRP, it either stucks and prints nothing, prints a strange message on the screen "press any key to confirm" and restarts, or flashes the TWRP successfully, but after the restart I still have the original recovery.

My Mi8 (received today) stills on boot loop after updating to .eu rom -.-.

Strange, everything worked after I restarted to bootloader from adb when full system was started. For bootloader started from power off with vol_down+power - it didn't

try with "sudo" if you're with linux or be sure to have admin control with windows
