Can't turn on wifi after a few hours

I have a recurring problem where a few hours after installling the latest xiaomi.eu it becomes impossible to turn wifi on. It works fine until that moment but afterwards wifi is always off when I try and enable it the whole settings page for it crashes to either a black or white screen.

Looking online the suggestions I've seen are to do a clean install after reflashing regular MIUI, which didn't work as it happened again, or to rename a file called "wpa suppilcant.config" and reboot but I can't find it at the suggested path (/system/data/misc/wifi/).

This has left me at a loss and I'm back to Global MIUI for now.

Any suggestions?

So it's really weird but I've found out that it was installing the lastest stable version of Majisk (19.3) that was causing the wifi to stop working. I tried the latest beta (19.4) which had the same effect and I kept trying versions until I found 19.0 would keep the root as well as the wifi.

I would love to hear an explanation but at least it's working now.
