Hello, i'm trying to buy a mi 11 ultra and found out that european version, during the presentation, was called "director's cut" - is there some difference? Because in Italy we are still on 1.400€, menawhile i can buy it for 850/900 from China, with Global version. Since i'm going to flash with xiaomi.eu rom i was wandering if there is some difference? I read about antenna differences, but is it all?
Thank you

May be they have just set the antenna in order the "directors" get a better networking...
just my word.

The difference from CN version to Directors Cut is the size of the RAM and ROM, the avalible colors and in the EU Xiaomi includes a charger.

In China you could buy 8/256 GB, 12/256 and 12/512 GB. Also you could buy three different colors, while in the EU there are only two colors and 12/256 GB avalible.

You must take into account import charges (VAT, CLO, recycling).
Yep, also China have that kind of tax, still no explanation for the price that is double (beside the fact only VAT and customs duties will impact the price, all other are not based on the price). That why i presume that european version may be different/better

Not at all. It's the same as the iPhone. The price in the US is different than in the EU and the phones are the same

Vůbec ne. Je to stejné jako iPhone. Cena v USA je jiná než v EU a telefony jsou stejné.
The price you see in USA presentation, it's without VAT, bc in USA normally all the price are without VAT (and you have some States which VAT is 0 - like montana, so the 13 for 1099$ is 1203.40$ in Los Angeles - and not just 1099$ how you see it on apple site).
But still, here we talk about almost double the price (1400 in Italy - 800/850 in China) so is it possible that hardware is different?

Don't hope that the phone is better in the EU or with a different HW than in China.
It is the pricing policy of EU countries (VAT, CLO) and the trader's margin.

The price of the Mi Ultra in India is for example 69999.00 INR = 810.00 EUR

As i said, no other phone have this difference, it's only VAT you have to calculate - no more customs duties as i know (only on values if you don't applie - but it's only 4%, so total of 26% in Italy - it's still not 90% =) )

The official price of Mi 11 Ultra is 1.199 Euro in Germany which matches VAT etc.

The higher price is from people who want to make some extra money on it, like we see all over the place with HW this year. Please don't mix scalper prices with official ones ;)

You need to take the Rom version difference into account. If you are a common user, you dont need to unlock the boot loader and flash new rom if you buy it in Italy. But if you buy it from China, the MIUI China version doesnt give you a good using experience and you need to unlock the boot loader to flash miui.eu as you said. The difference is that once you unlock the boot loader from China version there is no way to re-lock it in other roms except MIUI China version. And the unlocked boot loader will bring big problems with Google safetynet and you may need to root your device, install Magisk or something else to bypass Google testing so be able to use Gpay or banking apps properly.

You can lock the bootloader on stock ROMs.

[Edit].. technically possible, you may brick your phone.

I want to note something about the Chinese ROM.

I made the Chinese ROM on my Mi 11, behave almost the same like the EEA or Global, even made it German, except the settings. The China ROM, unlikely any other ROM, allows you to uninstall almost everything, not disable but uninstall. And if you can live with settings in English and some Chinese chars here and there , the debloated CN ROM isn't that bad.

i'm not mixing, the official price is 5499 CNY so it's 725,25€ (base version 8g ram - https://www.mi.com/mi11ultra) ‍
Why you all want lock the bootloader?
And so, you are 100% it's the same hw? And what the problem with flashing ROM's, is it a problem if you took a chinese cell?

It is not a problem, just keep in mind you will need to keep the bootloader unlocked if you use anything else than the Chinese ROM, some apps won't run with an opened bootloader, but the Xiaomi.eu ROM try to prevent this detection.

Nothing new if you are already used with Xiaomi.eu

Well, the problem is no such version in Europe.
Here we get the 12g version only, which is 1.199 Euros. If you take into account vat and other taxes + charger we get here , the price is about right.

I don't want to lock anything, and no it is not a problem to flash any ROM.

Nope will be first time on xiaomi

I calculated the price above, with all "taxes". In China is also vat included (and the have even more that in Germany 16% vs 17%), but even if you start from that price - 12GB+256GB 790€ it's 126€ VAT so will be 916€ (24% diff with real reatail price) and if you calc in right way, remove chinese VAT and recalculate, it's only 782€(35% diff)). Just for example if you took iphones the difference it's only 100€ (9%diff - or 7%).
Back to real important question, where i can find information about unlocked - what i loose?

Nah.. is 19% in Germany , then import taxes on top :). You'll be with all taxes you pay and shipping around 27 to 29 % , and you forgot the charger , if I buy in china I have to buy the charger extra. Also your calculation doesn't include fees Xiaomi has to pay for EU and Germany licenses and regulations.

Also iphone is the same story.. let's take 13 pro USA 845 Euro , Germany 1.149 Euro ( both no charger ) .. so it is about the same difference you see with Xiaomi.. if Apple would include a charger in Germany be sure the price would be 1.200 Euro ++.

If you use xiaomi.eu you'll lose nothing, SaftyNet is working to 99% without the need to root. The 1% left is when Google changes something or Xiaomi itself messed up. In that case you may need to install root to hide the fact your bl is unlocked and banking apps or gpay works. For other ROMs , stock or not based on xiaomi.eu you'll need install root to pass SaftyNet. That is all about the deal with locked vs unlocked bl. Banking apps ( or apps wich need some sort money transfer ) and gpay or whatever oder payment methods.
