Dm Verity Question

Hi,
I have unlocked bootloader, installed twrp etc
My question is, I've noticed a new version of twrp is available but before I update, I see people mention dm verity.

I don't want to cause a boot problem so can someone tell me if,I can just update twrp via twrp and if as I'm using eu rom stable, I have dm verity actually active or is it disabled on the Xiaomi eu rom?

I updated twrp via twrp and had no issue at all.
Now that you mention dm-verity, I missed that setting so it's on its default on my R3 (and I don't know if default is active or disabled)
