Do I Need A Vpn To Unlock The Bootloader?

Hi,

i purchased a Xiaomi Redmi 4x and i want to unlock my bootloader so i can install the xiaomi.eu rom in it.
I tried to follow all the steps and after i enter my mobile number it gives me a message in chinese about my IP (that one that says that the IP is blocked).

As i understood after looking around, i need a chinese IP to follow to the next step but the problem is that i can't find a vpn or proxy that wasn't already blocked.
It's very annoying because i keep trying new proxies until i reach my sms limit and i just want to ask you if you can provide me a solution.

Try Firefox with a Chinese proxy. Works for me.

thanks. After two days trying with 2 different mobile numbers i finally did it!

I guess now i have to wait

Enter to unlock page again, if download link is there you can unlock. Not forget to enable oem on developer options and bind device with your account. After that wait 72 hours and unlock with downloaded software

Thank you very much, i didn't know about the 72 hours.

I'm from Portugal and i bought this phone as a gift but i think that the ROM from xiaomi.eu will be better than the stock firmware (we don't even have pt-pt language). Good thing i bought my device in advance, i spent 2 days to get my unlock message and now i need to wait more 3 to finish it.
