Does the Redmi note 12 have LDAC?

Hey there! I've been having some trouble activating LDAC on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 12, running Hyper OS Android 14. I've got the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, which are LDAC compatible. The issue is, despite trying to change the Bluetooth codec in the developer settings, it keeps reverting back to AAC and won't stick on LDAC.

I've double-checked that settings in the Sony app, like multipair, are turned off, and sound quality priority is enabled. I really don't think it's a hardware problem; it seems more like a software hiccup.

It's a bit puzzling because it's a 2023 phone, and LDAC support is pretty standard on modern Android devices. Any chance you know of any fixes for this? Or perhaps there's a custom ROM that could help sort out this LDAC activation issue? Your insights would be super helpful! Thanks a bunch!

PS: no LDAC setting in the Bluetooth connected devices menu, only AAC

I found a possible solution, but I don't own any headphones that support LDAC so it will be up to you to test it:

Enable Developer Mode,

1. Open Settings > About Phone > Detailed info and specs
2. Click on the OS Version multiple times (10 I believe) until it says developer mode enabled.

Open Developer Options

Open Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options

Now if you scroll down far enough you'll found an area to do with Bluetooth stuff, you can change your Bluetooth audio codec here - by default mine is set to AAC, you can change it to LDAC here.

I hope this is what you were looking for, and that it works, if you have any further questions feel free to ask!

First of all, you have to check if the device you are connecting to supports LDAC. If yes, turn off the "HD-audio" button just above the "Bluetooth audio codec" switcher, and only then you will be able to switch the codec.

Mine is freebuds 6i and it does support LDAC. I do like what you said but now it keeps reverting back to SBC, what shall I do next.

I've just bought 6i too! So here on screenshots how I turned on LDAC. In the developer menu and Bluetooth menu
