Nope. Have mine since last summer, did lots and lots of PUBG, not really getting hot. battery is quite decent - do watch movies and YouTube all day long, scroll news and game all day long, the battery surprisingly last very long. Before this I had Mi9, the battery was .

Battery life is pretty poor on mine, 6 hours SOT from 100% to 0%, maximum!
Performance in games is mostly good, but the framerate drops since the phone throttles performance. It also gets quite warm, but I wouldn't say hot as in too hot to hold.
The phone gets warm during normal use too. I guess that's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for you.
