Earpiece Speaker Not Working

Hi

My Redmi Note 2 screen cracked, so i purchased a new full screen replacement with bezel. During transferring the parts to the new assembly i damaged the earpiece speaker. Everything else is working 100%.

I purchased a new speaker and tested it before installing however once installed the speaker doesn't work. The contact pins are touching any ideas how to resolve this?

Do i need to do any hardware/firmware updates?
