Encryption on Mi9

Is it possible to encrypt the data on Mi9 while using weekly roms? I formated the device to be able to install Xiaomi.eu and while it works fine, the phone is only able to boot if disable dm verity-force encrypt is also flashed. Have tried different twrp versions. And it so, what is the correct procedure and can it be done without a clean install?

Without clean install , can't do anything!
Bcos u already try many ways, many test analysis, can't revert back encryption.
Better try clean install...

1st time twrp installation time , twrp asking keep system read only or swipe to allow modification.
What u select ?

He is boot unlocked with working TWRP and within EU weekly rom.
what else do you suggest?
MI9 TWRP is well handling encryption/dencryption but this issue is rather new and unexplained right now..

I use this twrp from LR team (chinese version, switch to english) on mi9 (global version with CE sign). After format data, wipe and install the weekly, i am encrypted without flashing dm verity-force.
ps: before boot, i' m flashing magisk 19.3

Yes, it ask for.
Now i am on EU 9.8.10, so twrp don't ask and i can't see anymore the real names of data.

What happened? MIUI changed encryption method so that China TWRP can't decrypt data anymore?

Yes, but Android 10 change the encryption

Same problem here before an OTA update , if i enter in twrp i see that message, ho to remove encyption , i have the last xiaomieu MIUI 10 ANDROID 10

Enter your pin password or if any you try to set one and reboot twrp.
IF fully unsuccessful you must format data/yes in wipe section of twrp. you gonna erase all your data! have backup!

No problem i have updated to miui 11 , before the flash i have inseeted my phone pin
